Sally is the mastermind behind an amazing new sports wear brand ‘Every Second Counts’– read below to find out her beauty tips and fashion faux pas!
What do you do?
I am the Creative Director and Founder of newly launched British sportswear brand Every Second Counts. I am also a Balanced Body qualified Pilates Instructor.
What are you most proud of?
Making the slightly daunting decision to leave my previous job of 17 years as a magazine Fashion Director to start my own fitness wear brand from scratch.
What can’t you live without?
Exercise – whether it’s Pilates, yoga, running or gymnastics – it keeps me sane and takes my mind off work. Healthy body, healthy mind.
What is your most memorable fashion purchase?
Probably when my love affair with designer bags started, I remember lusting after a Prada nylon black backpack for ages and finally getting my hands on one. I still have it and a penchant for designer bags!
What is your favourite shop of all time?
Henri Bendel in New York. I love being in that city and it’s the perfect pint sized department store with a great edit, though sadly I don’t think they do clothing anymore, just great accessories. I’m also a big fan of the Kooples.
What is your biggest fashion mistake?!
When I was a teenager I used to have a thing for wearing very brightly coloured chunky jumpers and then tucking them in to my stonewash jeans – highly unflattering!
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Kate Hudson – she’s super fit and healthy in real life, which I really admire but comes across as a bit clumsy/ditzy in most of her film roles, which I definitely am!
What’s your Chic Beauty/Fashion tip?
Beauty – My mum introduced to Guerlain Terracota Bronzer as a teenager and I’ve never worn anything else since. It’s my go-to glow, for a naturally bronzed face in an instant.
Fashion – wear everything with a smile. Light up a room no matter how shy or nervous you’re feeling, positive body posture always gets noticed.
