DUCIE KEAM-GEORGE

To kick-start the New Year we have the brilliant Ducie Keam-George, an über talented and super chic fashion designer, as our first Chic of the Week for 2014! Ducie hand-picked our limited edition Fendi Baguette in beaded sugary pink as her bag of choice, reflecting her vivacious, colourful personality!

What do you do?

I’m head designer and Director of Ducie, a womenswear fashion label.

What are you most proud of?

Apart from my family! I’m most proud of my archive of silk dresses in a huge spectrum of colours. All designed by me over a period of about 10 years.

What can’t you live without?

I can’t live without exercise in its various forms, from walking to running to gym work outs to yoga and swimming. I’ll take any of it as I need it to survive. If you meant fashion – I can’t live without a very good fitting bra. Since breast feeding three babies, it’s now extremely well fitting PADDED sports bra!

What is your most memorable fashion purchase?

My most memorable fashion purchase were my springbuck deer boots from a shop in Carnaby Street about 11 years ago. No one had seen anything like them and they were new, not vintage, so they were really comfy and a nice shape. They’ve since been eaten by moths. Depressing!

What is your biggest fashion mistake?

My biggest fashion mistake is my husband. He ruins my look everywhere we go!

What is your favourite shop of all time?

My fav shop is netaporter.com. Faultless. Same day delivery available. Has everything a girl could want fashion wise. Wouldn’t mind the bank balance to match though – good second best either Kidsen (best children’s shop in the UK) or H&M kids wear. I buy 14 years plus – yes it’s for me!!!! Kids clothes are best quality and most original and cheap!

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Me, I’m a good actress and self obsessed enough! I’d be a good me.
